“Travian News International” Magazine Launches (Updated Below)

There was a big surprise when I logged into my Travian Account today: A 18 page online Magazine called the “Travian News International”.

If you haven’t seen it yourself yet, here’s a link to it: http://com.travianteam.com/dateien/com_magazine_2010_02.pdf

I’m stunned that the Travian.com team put this together. Did other people know this was coming out? I seriously had no idea. Either they kept this a secret or I’m really out of the loop.

Inside the magazine are several articles, including interviews with the winners of S7.com, an in-depth explanation of all of the Gold Club features, the new forum banner competition, and more!

I’ll be posting more thoughts on the magazine later, but right now I’m going to go do the crossword puzzle (the first 10 people to solve it win 30 Gold!)

UPDATE: I finished the crossword puzzle but they had already received 10 correct solutions so I didn’t win. People work fast when they want Gold. I’ve had some time to read the rest of the issue, the best part is the interview with the Server 7 winners, I’ll do a break-down and highlight some of the key things that were said in the interview later today.

Server 6 Restart Announced on Travian.com

The next round of S6.com finally has a start date. The new server will begin on March 12th, with pre-registration commencing on March 10th. It will be a version 3.6 Server (part of me was hoping they would surprise us with a classic version 3.5 server, but oh well).

There’s no official discussion thread for the new server on the Travian.com forums yet, but there is an unofficial one.

At this time it’s unclear whether or not this server will have the Rally Point restrictions that were introduced with version 3.6, or if it will be free from them like the new Server 1 is.

New Poll

I’m curious to see what tribe this site’s readers like the best.

New Banner and 110,000 Hits!

I just want to thanks all of my readers once again for visiting this site and say that I’m really glad that people are finding it useful. If you like this site now, hopefully you’ll like it even more in the future because I have a lot of ideas for how to make it better (the first and most important way to make it better is to update it more often and on a regular schedule). Travian Champions has now passed 110,000 hits and I’m sure it will reach its next milestone soon.

You’ve probably noticed the new and improved banner at the top of the page (unless this is your first time visiting the page, in which case, welcome!) I want to thank one of my readers for sending it in, it looks awesome and you did a great job in making it. It’s far superior to anything I could make myself. The colors of the new banner really go well with the site design too!

I’ve got some cool plans for this week. Look for a new reader poll tomorrow!

Busy times on S9.com

While I wouldn’t describe Server 9 as a server with a more active war than other servers, certainly not more than the past servers I’ve played on. But it is one where things are constantly busy, and I think it’s a hard server for all the alliances on it. (But all servers are hard these days, what with registration closing earlier than it used to and less players being around as the game goes on). I think a lot of players are pushing themselves really hard, and I’m one of them.

Gameplay wise, this is by far my best server ever. I’ve never been this highly ranked on a server, and my main army, while not breaking any records, is much bigger than anything I’ve played before – even on the previous Server 4, where I played Teutons. My attack ratings is the highest it’s ever been too.

I’m seeing a different side fo the game now than I ever have before. Being in a top 10 alliance is a whole different game than not being in one. There’s a lot of pressure to perform and I really want to win this time around, but it’s a tough grind each and every day (and feeding that Hammer army all the time is a bitch).

This isn’t the funnest server I’ve ever played on. I think playing Teutons on the last Server 4 was more fun. But, my alliance was a little less organized and the area of the map I was in was a real wild zone with lots of nearby people to fight. This time the alliance I’m in has got the whole area around it locked down completely. And because I have a bigger army, I don’t want to go throwing it around and losing it when my alliance needs it for big attacks its planning.

So, I think I’ll be staying busy on S9 for the foreseeable future (The Natars are still at least a few weeks away). But I’ll try hard to keep the Travian Champions blog updating regularly during that time.

Updated Server Start Dates

I updated the Server Start dates on the World Champions and US/UK/AUS/IN Champions pages. Now they’re totally up to date and you can find out what the latest servers are in each region.

Speaking of the US/UK/AUS/IN page, I’m going to be working on revamping that page a little bit so it has more links to previously finished round results. I hope that in the future I can find enough time to keep up with all the finished servers and do my own Hall of Champions Inductions for them, but for now I’m going to be linking to finished results on the respective forums for each of these servers.

The latest UK Server (S4) doesn’t have the controversial “Auto Troop Recall” function that was introduced in version 3.6 of Travian. This is positive news for the many players who didn’t like that feature. Now the UK servers join the .Com and .US servers in not having that feature. It looks like the admins have listened to the many players who said they didn’t like that new feature.

Quick Update

Sorry I’ve been extremely busy lately and haven’t been able to update, but I will try to get a post done soon.
