Reviews of Browser Games Forum 2009

Browser Games Forum is a major event where the leading companies in the Browser-Based Videogame Market meet each year. This year’s event took place on November 6th-7th in Frankfurt, Germany. Travian Games is one of the major companies that sponsers of this event, so I thought that readers of this site might want to read some reports about it.

Because the event takes place in Germany, it’s hard to find English-language reports on it, but I did come across these three:

A preview article from BBG.com: http://news.bbgsite.com/content/2009-10-21/browser-games-forum-2009-the-industry-is-meeting.shtml

A report on the event from Galaxy News: http://www.galaxy-news.net/content/505_browser_game_conference_with_record_attendance.html

An interview with the organizer of Browser Game Forum on Galaxy News: http://www.galaxy-news.net/content/488_bgf_2009_quot_we_039_re_reacting_to_a_professionalizing_market_quot.html

Browser Based Games are becoming a huge part of the Videogame industry, thanks in large part to the success of games like Travian. This two-day forum will probably help shape the future of the gaming, so I find it very interesting to read about, and I hope you do too!
